A Personal Donation Link for Every Student Traveler

August 17, 2026

Making a student trip affordable doesn’t always happen through one big fundraiser. Often, it happens $25 or $50 at a time with a little help from grandparents, relatives, family friends, and others who want to support a student’s experience.

That’s why every student who registers for an Orange Sky Travel trip receives access to their own personal donation link.

One Student. One Personal Link.

The important word is personal.

Each donation link is connected to one specific registered traveler and their trip balance. A student can share their link with grandparents, extended family, neighbors, family friends, or anyone else who would like to help them participate in the trip.

When someone uses the link to make a donation, that contribution goes directly toward that student’s individual trip balance.

There’s no money for the teacher to collect, no checks for the school bookkeeper to deposit, and no spreadsheet to update. The contribution is recorded through our traveler payment system securely and automatically.

It’s Not a Replacement for Fundraising

Personal donation links are separate from traditional fundraising.

Your school or student group can still organize the fundraisers that work best for your community—product sales, sponsorships, events, or other fundraising programs. Those proceeds can be submitted and applied through our system as part of your group’s trip.

The personal donation feature simply gives each registered student another tool to help make their trip more affordable.

Think of them as two different opportunities:

Group fundraising helps students work together to reduce trip costs.

Personal donation links allow an individual student’s personal network to contribute directly toward that student’s trip.

Families can use one, the other, or both.

Small Contributions Can Make a Big Difference

A $25 gift from an aunt. $50 from a grandparent. A contribution from a family friend who remembers how meaningful their own school trip was.

Individually, those gifts may seem small. Together, they can make a meaningful difference in what a family ultimately has to pay.

And because every registered traveler has their own link, families decide whether they want to share it, who they want to share it with, and how often.

One More Thing Educators Don’t Have to Manage

Orange Sky Travel manages traveler registration and payments because educators shouldn’t have to become the trip’s bookkeeper.

Personal donation links extend that same philosophy. Students and families have another way to make the trip achievable, while teachers and school staff stay out of the money-management process.

Every registered student gets their own opportunity to ask their community for support—without creating more work for their educator.
